Inclusive Design means to break down barriers and thereby making a product accessible to as many people as possible. The idea to apply this approach to a nonfiction book emerged from the thought, that self-determined access to basic knowledge should be a condition for equal participation in society. With this project a non-fiction book about the history of the emergence of mankind was generated. It is supposed to work for persons with bodily or mental limitations as well as for everybody else. This is being achieved by a number of adjustments. Beginning with the preparation of the content, the text, written in simple language, the content and style of illustrations, to layout and typographic focus and on to printing, paper selection and binding. The most important text and imagery is being rendered tactile in production.
